4 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain went 2-for-4 with a home run and an additional RBI in a win over the Giants on Tuesday. Cain's second-inning solo blast gave Milwaukee a 3-0 lead, and he helped extended that margin with a run-scoring single in the third inning. The veteran outfielder registered his first multi-hit game since August 7th and finishes the month with a .219/.247/.384 slash line, three homers, 10 RBI and four stolen bases across 22 games.--James Stokke

3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain cleared release waivers on Thursday and has officially become a free agent. The Brewers designated the struggling Cain for assignment last weekend. It came after he hit just .179/.231/.234 with a homer, nine RBI, 17 runs scored and two stolen bases in 156 plate appearances over 43 games played in 2022. It remains to be seen if the two-time All-Star will latch on with another organization, but Cain is unlikely to be much more than outfield depth if he does. Since joining Milwaukee in 2018, the 36-year-old hit .270/.344/.380 with 30 home runs, 133 RBI, 226 runs scored and 63 stolen bases in 415 games over five seasons.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoOutfielder Lorenzo Cain was DFA'd by the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday, putting an end to his five-year tenure with the team. The decision was a mutual one between Brewers management and Cain, who knew his time in the majors was coming to an end. The former fantasy stud was having a rough go this season, with a .179/.231/.234 slash line and only one home run to go along with two steals. Fantasy managers who have been playing for over a few years will remember his prime years when he was a constant 30-steal guy who could reliably hit .300.
