Lorenzo Cain Could Return Before The All-Star Break
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Lorenzo Cain (hamstring) is aiming to come back before the All-Star break. He's been sidelined since June 1 with a strained right hamstring. The 35-year-old ran on the field Monday and plans to take batting practice on Tuesday. Cain will continue to ramp up his activity and look to begin a rehab assignment soon. Before the injury, the Brewers outfielder slashed .223/.322/.350 with three homers, nine RBI, 17 runs scored, and four stolen bases across 31 games in 2021. Even when healthy, Cain had a career-low .263 BAIP and posted a 20.3 K percentage, his highest mark since 2014. Jackie Bradley Jr. will continue to fill in for Cain, but both Brewers outfielders are mainly options in deep-league formats only.
