Logan Webb Sitting At 2-1 After Four Starts
3 years agoSan Francisco Giants right-hander Logan Webb is off to a solid start to the 2022 season. He's posted quality starts in three of his four outings and has a 2-1 record to go along with a 2.96 ERA and a 1.11 WHIP. Webb had a breakout season in 2021 thanks to his ability to limit hard contact. He allowed a barrel rate of just 5.6% last year, which ranked in the 83rd percentile. Batters also had a minuscule xSLG of .329 against him (87th percentile). Both of those metrics have moved slightly in the wrong direction through the early going this year. He's allowed a 6.5% barrel rate and batters have a .410 xSLG against him. However, he's allowing an average exit velocity of 85.8 mph, which is way down from last year's clip (88.1 mph) so he's still most definitely keeping batters at bay. Webb will look to claim his third win of the year on Saturday, when he'll go up against the Washington Nationals.
