1 year agoVegas Golden Knights goaltender Logan Thompson is the scheduled starter for Monday's pivotal clash with the St. Louis Blues. Thompson's battery mate, Adin Hill, left Saturday's game against the Columbus Blue Jackets with an undisclosed injury, although Thompson was already scheduled to start Monday's contest. "[Hill came to the bench and said he wasn't feeling 100 percent, so we made the switch," Vegas coach Bruce Cassidy said after the game. " Other than that, he's getting his tests." The 27-year-old has put forth a 2.77 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage across 38 games on the season, going 19-12-5 in the process. The Golden Knights sit just four points ahead of the Blues for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, albeit with one game in hand.--Brenton Kemp

2 months agoAccording to Sammi Silber of The Hockey News, Washington Capitals goaltender Logan Thompson will get the starting nod on Tuesday evening to face the Florida Panthers. Thompson will look to bounce back from a poor showing on Saturday evening when he allowed five goals to the Winnipeg Jets. This was just the second time this season he allowed five goals in a single game. Before this rough showing, the 27-year-old enjoyed an impressive stretch, holding a 7-0-1 record with a .958% SV and a 1.16 GAA. During this stretch, Thompson allowed only more than two goals on one occasion and posted two shutouts. Overall, Thompson has enjoyed a career season, holding a 23-2-4 with a .924% SV and a 2.15 GAA. Even though he has a tougher matchup against the Florida Panthers, he remains a top pick in DFS competitions.--Andy Smith - RotoBaller
