Through 39 games this season, Thompson has held an impressive 30-4-5 record. The 28-year-old has posted a .917 save percentage with a 2.29 GAA and two shutouts. He remains a must-start goaltender in all matchups and a top play in DFS.

Thompson will look to bounce back from a poor showing on Saturday evening when he allowed five goals to the Winnipeg Jets. This was just the second time this season he allowed five goals in a single game. Before this rough showing, the 27-year-old enjoyed an impressive stretch, holding a 7-0-1 record with a .958% SV and a 1.16 GAA. During this stretch, Thompson allowed only more than two goals on one occasion and posted two shutouts. Overall, Thompson has enjoyed a career season, holding a 23-2-4 with a .924% SV and a 2.15 GAA. Even though he has a tougher matchup against the Florida Panthers, he remains a top pick in DFS competitions.

This was Thompson's first start since signing a six-year $35.1 million extension with the Capitals. Thompson has won each of his previous six starts and seven of his last eight. Over his previous six, the 27-year-old has posted a near-perfect 0.83 GAA with a. 969% SV. He has posted two shutouts during this span and only allowed two or more goals in one contest.
