Logan Allen Blanks Cincinnati Over Six Innings
1 year agoCleveland Guardians starting pitcher Logan Allen shut down the Cincinnati Reds on Tuesday when he allowed four hits, three walks, and struck out seven over six innings in a 3-0 win. Allen allowed at least one base runner to reach in all but one of his six innings but he was able to work around the traffic every time. The 24-year-old has been rock-solid so far in August, working a 1.59 ERA and 1.36 WHIP over three starts (17 innings). For the season, he owns a 6-5 record, 3.33 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, and 95:38 K/BB ratio over 97 1/3 innings (18 starts). He'll toe the rubber once again on Sunday at home against the Detroit Tigers.
