Lions Stop The Slide For Quarterback Hendon Hooker
2 years agoThe Detroit Lions selected quarterback Hendon Hooker (knee) out of Tennessee with the No. 68 overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft on Friday night. The Lions traded up to No. 68 to select Hooker, who is expected to back up Jard Goff. After tearing his ACL in his final season, there is a lot of curiosity about when he'll be ready to suit up and make his debut. However, with Goff entrenched as the team's starter, they'll have the luxury of allowing him to sit behind the veteran for the entirety of the 2022 season if they so desire. Hooker was a highly touted prospect before the injury; he has the tools to be a competent starter in the NFL, especially given the supporting cast the Lions possess, making him an intriguing dynasty asset.
