Lions Sign Damion Ratley, Alex Anzalone
4 years agoThe Detroit Lions signed free-agent wide receiver Damion Ratley and linebacker Alex Anzalone to one-year deals on Wednesday. Anzalone's deal is worth $1.75 million. Ratley was most recently with the Houston Texans, but he didn't play a snap with the team. He spent the first part of the 2020 season with the New York Giants after two seasons with the Cleveland Browns. Ratley has 29 career catches in 31 games and will serve as receiving depth in Detroit. The speedy wideout had a 4.40-second 40-yard dash at his Pro Day in 2018. Anzalone has familiarity with head coach Dan Campbell and defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn after spending four years with the New Orleans Saints. The former third-round pick has had an up-and-down career and has struggled with missed tackles and run defense, but he'll push for a starting job as an off-ball linebacker.
