6 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jake Rudock started the final preseason game Thursday night against the Cleveland Browns. He finished 14 of 24 for 114 yards and a touchdown. His first four drives resulted in a punt, leading the team to insert Matt Cassel into the game. Cassel then tossed an interception that was returned for a touchdown before the half. Rudock re-entered mid-way through the third quarter before eventually leading two fourth-quarter scoring drives. The Lions backup quarterback battle hasn't been pretty during training camp, as neither Cassel nor Rudock have taken charge of the role. Regardless of who wins the job, the Lions offense is in serious trouble if anything were to happen to Matthew Stafford.--Steve Janik - RotoBaller
