Liam Hendriks Won't Return This Week
2 years agoChicago White Sox manager Pedro Grifol said that closer Liam Hendriks, who pitched in a minor-league rehab game on Tuesday night, will return to Chicago on Thursday while the team maps out what the rest of his rehab assignment will look like. Grifol said Hendriks won't return this week, but it's possible he'll make his 2023 season debut next week. The 34-year-old right-handed reliever is trying to return from non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He hasn't looked very great in the minors so far, allowing six runs in five innings for Triple-A Charlotte, but that's not exactly what the White Sox are concerned with right now. Hendriks should remain stashed in all fantasy formats, but managers should expect him to be eased back into the closer's role when he rejoins the White Sox.
