Liam Hendriks Throws Simulated Game Monday
1 year agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks threw his latest simulated game on Monday. Manager Pedro Grifol told reporters on Friday that there was no set date for Hendriks to come off the injured list after the 34-year-old right-handed reliever threw 20 pitches in a live bullpen session on Thursday. The White Sox aren't going to rush Hendriks back despite the fact that he's cancer-free, especially after he posted a rough 10.80 ERA in six minor-league rehab appearances at Triple-A Charlotte. Still, it would be a surprise if Hendriks isn't back in the big leagues at some point this week. He's fully expected to return to primary closing duties for the Pale Hose, but don't be surprised if the team eases him into high-leverage situations at first.
