Liam Hendriks Starts Last Round Of Chemo Monday
2 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks said that he's starting his last round of chemotherapy on Monday as he battles non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. Hendriks appears to be doing well in his fight with cancer, but there remains no timetable for his 2023 debut despite the fact that he said he'll be back soon. The good news is the 34-year-old right-hander isn't on the 60-day injured list, so he could be back with the White Sox before the end of May. If he's still available on your league's waiver wire, scoop him up and stash him now. Reynaldo Lopez has the team's only save of the year so far, but this could be a closer-committee situation until Hendriks returns. Others that could be in line for save chances include Kendall Graveman, Aaron Bummer, Joe Kelly and Jake Diekman.
