Liam Hendriks Records 24th Save
3 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks recorded the final six outs to record his 24th save of the season in Sunday's victory versus the Milwaukee Brewers. Hendriks entered with no outs and a runner on first base in the bottom of the eighth inning and retired three straight batters. Hendriks allowed a single to Tyrone Taylor to open the bottom of the ninth, but then retired the next three hitters to secure a victory for the White Sox. All in all, Hendriks finished the night with a line of one hit, zero runs, zero walks and three strikeouts in two innings. Hendriks continues to be one of the most valuable closers in the game and he now owns a 2.49 ERA.
