Liam Hendriks Earns Seventh Save
4 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks picked up his seventh save of the season versus the Minnesota Twins on Thursday. Hendriks was called upon in the top of the eighth inning with two runners on with one out and got the White Sox out of a big jam to maintain a 3-2 lead at the time. Hendriks would follow that up with an easy 1-2-3 top of the ninth inning. Hendriks has shown why the White Sox paid him a pretty penny this offseason and he has now converted seven saves in nine opportunities. Managers should be aware that Hendriks has throw in back-to-back games and he could be unavailable on Friday. If Hendriks is unavailable, relievers Aaron Bummer or Codi Heuer are the likely candidates for a save opportunity. Hendriks now owns a 2.93 ERA with 26 strikeouts and remains one of the best closers in the game.
