Liam Hendriks Blows First Save Of 2021
4 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks blew his first save as a member of the White Sox on Sunday versus the Kansas City Royals. Hendriks started the top of the ninth inning with a 3-2 lead but served up a solo home run to designated hitter Carlos Santana to start the inning. Hendriks would then strikeout Jorge Soler and Hanser Alberto, before allowing a single to Kyle Isbel and eventually getting Michael A. Taylor to fly out. Hendriks has now appeared allowed runs in two of his three appearances, including two runs in his season debut versus the Los Angeles Angels. Managers who spent high capital on the closer will want to remain patient and the odds are in favor of Hendriks turning it around. Hendriks will remain entrenched in the closer's role for the White Sox and there should be no concern from managers about his slow start for now.
