Liam Hendriks Battles High Altitude Tuesday, Earns Save
2 years agoChicago White Sox closer Liam Hendriks picked up a shaky 19th save of the season in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Rockies. Hendriks came in to pitch the ninth inning up by two. He allowed a leadoff solo home run, got the next two hitters out on a strikeout and groundout, walked a batter, and got the final out on a groundout. Coors Field is always difficult to succeed in for pitchers, and White Sox beat writer Daryl Van Schouwen reported that Hendriks has felt ill pitching at high altitudes in the past. The 33-year-old has been a solid fantasy option this season, but he hasn't been as elite as he has been. He has now converted all but three save opportunities with a 3.48 ERA and a 13.10 K/9 rate.
