Lewis Thorpe Allows Two Runs In Four Innings
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Lewis Thorpe didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 10-3 loss to the Angels. Thorpe pitched four innings, surrendering two runs on three hits while fanning two batters compared to one free pass. He did generate eight swinging strikes, all of which came on his slider, though Thorpe's fastball noticeably had less juice on it- 89.5 MPH on average after he had shown improvements on that front in the spring. Still, the southpaw pitched well enough to keep the Twins in the game before the bullpen ultimately unraveled. Thorpe could be a candidate for another spot start in the future if needed- or a possible candidate for starts if an injury hits the rotation.
