Lewin Diaz Called Up From Triple-A On Sunday
3 years agoThe Miami Marlins recalled first baseman Lewin Diaz from Triple-A on Sunday. He is taking the roster spot of starting pitcher Jesus Luzardo (forearm), who was placed on the 15-day injured list with a left forearm strain. Diaz had a fantastic year at Triple-A last year, slashing .248/.327/.518 with 20 home runs over 74 games. He went on to make his MLB debut with the Marlins in 2021 and hit .205/.242/.451 with eight home runs over 40 games with the team. He's unlikely to see regular playing time for the Marlins as of now with Jesus Aguilar holding down first base.
