Buffalo Bills running back LeSean McCoy (hip/groin) is more than likely not going to see the field this preseason. He was, however, performing drills at practice. This is encouraging as McCoy is currently dealing with these minor ailments, which head coach Sean McDermott is calling a “day-to-day situation.” Fellow running backs Chris Ivory, Marcus Murphy and Travaris Cadet will carry most, if not all of the load against the Bengals this Sunday as the team wants to get a better look at these players to assess their current backup situation. They also want to keep McCoy fresh for Week 1 of the regular season on the road versus the Baltimore Ravens. McCoy had a productive year in 2017, but also had his lowest yards per carry of his career at 4.0, and his lowest yards after the catch average at 1.3. He still finished with 1,138 yards rushing and eight touchdowns. He was also favored heavily in the passing game with 77 targets (his highest since 2010). The Bills will have no choice but rely on the 30-year-old once again as the team just isn't blessed with that many impact players.--Joel Dorcas
