The New York Giants and twice-franchise tagged defensive lineman Leonard Williams reached an agreement on a three-year, $63 million contract extension on Tuesday that includes $45 million fully guaranteed, according to sources. Williams will now be dropping the positional salary grievance he had with the Giants. He would've made $19.4 million in 2021 under the franchise tag. The Giants save around $8 million on the salary cap with the move, and Williams can hit the open market again when he enters his age-30 season. The team also re-signed Austin Johnson on Monday, so he'll help with the loss of Dalvin Tomlinson in free agency. the 26-year-old Williams has 323 tackles and 29 sacks, including 11.5 in 2020, in his first six seasons after being a first-round pick of the Jets.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBallerRead More News
