Leonard Fournette Returns To Practice Wednesday
3 years agoTampa Bay Bucs running back Leonard Fournette (hamstring) was designated to return from Injured Reserve and returned to practice on Wednesday. This was always the expectation, but it's nice to see the plans fall into place. Fournette should be officially activated from IR before Sunday's wild-card game against the Philadelphia Eagles and return to his lead-back role, but it's possible that Ronald Jones II (ankle) would mix if he's healthy enough in Fournette's first game back. It should also be noted that fellow running back Giovani Bernard (hip) also returned to practice on Wednesday, and he had operated as the primary passing-down back earlier in the season. Fournette took over a lot of that work, but it's possible the Bucs could look to get Bernard more involved against an Eagles defense that has given up the most fantasy points to running backs over the last month, primarily because they have allowed the second-most receptions and seventh-most receiving yards. However, both Bernard and Jones figure to be too sparingly involved to be used in fantasy, and Fournette finds himself in a great spot for a good first-round showing.
