4 years agoEdmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl recorded his sixth game of the season with three or more points on Saturday, finishing a 4-3 overtime loss to Toronto with one goal and two assists. Connor McDavid had a multi-point night with two assists and Tyson Barrie picked up one goal and one assist. Draisaitl and McDavid are dominating the league's scorers table, and they are now the most productive Oilers duo through the team's first 35 games of a season since Wayne Gretzky and Mark Messier in 1987-88. They have combined for 115 points ahead of Monday's rematch with Toronto.

Draisaitl found the back of the net in the opening frame on the power-play. Then in the second, Draisaitl would score his 40th goal of the campaign, this time during 5-on-5 play. He also logged three shots on goal in this contest with two penalty minutes and one blocked shot. This outing also extended his point streak to six games. During this six-game stretch, he has tallied at least two points in each of his last three. Over his previous 15 games, Draisaitl has only been held off the scoresheet one time and tallied an impressive 24 points (11 goals, 13 helpers). Draisaitl remains a must-start player in all formats and a top DFS anchor in all matchups. He will look to extend his scoring streak after the international break when the Oilers travel to Philadelphia.

Draisaitl tallied the primary assist on Jeff Skinner's 10th goal of the season in the third period. Later in the frame, Draisaitl would find the back of the net on a wrist shot. During the game, he logged three shots on goal and a +1 rating. This outing extended his point streak to five games. During this stretch, he has posted two multi-point showings. Over his previous 17 contests, Draisaitl has tallied an impressive 25 points (11 goals, 14 helpers) with a +7 rating and averaging 4.23 shots on goal per game. The 29-year-old currently stands at the top with the most points in the sport and remains a must-start player in all formats. He will look to stay hot on Thursday evening against the Colorado Avalanche.

Leon Draisaitl Nets Game-Winner On Friday
2 months agoEdmonton Oilers forward Leon Draisaitl scored the game-winning goal as the team defeated Anaheim 3-2 on Friday. Edmonton blew a two-goal lead in the contest but skated away with a victory thanks to Draisaitl's effort at the 18:25 mark in the third period. The German superstar scored in a third consecutive contest, extending his point streak to 13 games. Draisaitl has been in spectacular form and rarely disappoints fantasy managers. He leads the league in goals with 28 and has accumulated 57 points in 38 games, placing him second, behind only Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon. Next up, Draisaitl faces a Seattle team, against whom he averaged two points per game in four appearances a season ago.

Draisaitl scored the game's opening goal on the power-play on a snap shot that beat Anaheim netminder Lukas Dostal. Then in the second, Draisaitl struck again on the power-play, this time on a slap shot. Center Connor McDavid tallied the primary assist on both of his goals. Draisaitl finished the game with four shots on goal and a -2 rating. Draisaitl is on an impressive run tallying at least one point in each of his previous 11 contests. Over this span, he has scored nine goals and added 14 helpers, with nine of those points coming on the man advantage. He remains a must-start player in all formats and one of the safest lineup anchors in DFS.
