Leodalis De Vries Continues Impress In Single-A
4 months agoSan Diego Padres shortstop prospect Leodalis De Vries continued his impressive season for Single-A Lake Elsinore on Wednesday. The 17-year-old went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer in the contest, marking the third time in his last five games the has rounded the bases. It is very rare to see someone so young at Single-A, but De Vries has spent most of the season with Lake Elsinore and held his own with a .232 batting average that is accompanied by eight homers, 30 RBI and 11 stolen bases in 224 at-bats. Like fellow Padres prospect, catcher Ethan Salas, De Vries is a rare talent that could rise quickly through a good Padres system. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, De Vries has all the tools to make him an all-around contributor at the next level and managers in dynasty leagues should invest in the youngster before it is too late.
