Leighton Vander Esch To Be Placed On Injured Reserve
4 years agoDallas Cowboys linebacker Leighton Vander Esch was forced to exit the game in Week 1 and was quickly ruled out. After the game, he was placed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone. He will undergo surgery to correct the injury, and as long as things go according to plan, he should be able to return in 2020. Vander Esch is a legitimate difference maker on defense when he is on the field, but there have to already be concerns about his durability despite this being just his age-24 season. Career backup Joe Thomas will likely take Vander Esch's place, and it should be a noticeable decline in the middle of the Cowboys Defense.
