LeGarrette Blount Shines In Passing Drill
6 years agoDetroit Lions running back LeGarrette Blount showed off his pass-catching abilities at practice on Monday. Known as one of the last true power backs remaining in the NFL, Blount was seen using elusiveness to gain separation and complete plays in one-on-one drills versus linebackers. There is quite a clog for snaps in the Lions backfield, so it’s intriguing to see Blount perform through the air. However, with a back like Theo Riddick still in the mix, Blount doesn’t hold any real value in the passing game and will likely be in a short-yardage or goal-line role. With the Lions crowded backfield and his touchdown dependency, it’s best to label Blount as a late-round flier until we see more usage.
