Lazaro Montes Stays Hot At High-A
3 months agoSeattle Mariners outfield prospect Lazaro Montes continued his torrid stretch on Sunday when he hit his 17th home run of the season and collected his 92nd RBI. The Mariners' third-ranked prospect had muddled his way to a .182/.293/.242 slashline over his first 25 games after his promotion to High-A, however, since then the 19-year-old has slashed .423/.500/.654 in 14 games. Montes cracked MLB.com's Top 100 list back in May, debuting at No. 85, but has worked his way up the list throughout the season and now ranks at No. 48 as of the latest refresh. Look for the youngster to test his mettle against the upper levels of the minors next season.
