Lauri Markkanen Questionable For Thursday's Matchup With San Antonio
6 months agoAccording to Tony Jones of The Athletic, Utah Jazz power forward Lauri Markkanen is listed as questionable for Thursday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. On Tuesday versus Sacramento, Markkanen left the game with back spasms. Despite the setback, he's averaged 18.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 1.8 assists in the season's first four games. Fantasy managers, if the 27-year-old cannot suit up, forwards John Collins and Kyle Filipowski will likely see more minutes on the court than usual.

Lauri Markkanen Will Not Play Against Grizzlies
3 weeks agoUtah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (illness) will miss additional time and has been ruled out for Tuesday's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The 2023 All-Star will sit out a fourth consecutive game. It's the second straight game he will miss due to an illness. Utah has no interest in winning and will continue to give opportunities to younger players for the remainder of the season. Markkanen's absence opens the door for Kyle Filipowski, Brice Sensabaugh, and Kenyon Martin Jr. to take on larger roles in the rotation. Filipowski stands out as the best fantasy option, as he has joined the starting unit, where he averages 13.8 points, 7.9 rebounds, and 2.6 assists.

Lauri Markkanen Set To Miss Another Game On Friday
3 weeks agoUtah Jazz forward Lauri Markkanen (personal) will miss his 24th game of the season on Friday as the team has ruled him out for personal reasons against the Boston Celtics. The youth movement has been in full effect for the Jazz as they try to inch closer to better odds for the number-one draft pick. John Collins (ankle) has also been ruled out of this game, so the starting frontcourt will likely continue to feature Walker Kessler, Kyle Filipowski, and Cody Williams.
