5 years agoNo. 7 ranked 125-pounder Lauren Murphy pulled off the impressive decision victory over Roxanne Modafferi at UFC Fight Night on Saturday. Moving to 13-4, Murphy's confidence grew as the bout went on, putting the pressure on Modafferi. The third round saw Modafferi fair a bit better, but Murphy kept control and dominated with a massive takedown. Another win could put the 36-year-old Murphy in the title chase.--Matt Bricker

2 years agoA veteran of the UFC since 2014, Lauren Murphy continues to showcase impressive skills and is now set to battle Jessica Andrade on the main card of UFC 283 on Saturday. Despite a loss to the champion Valentina Shevchenko, Murphy is riding an impressive 6-1 mark since the beginning of 2019. She is also coming off of a win against former champion Miesha Tate. DraftKings sees Murphy as the huge underdog, though, with a salary of $6,800. Throughout her UFC career (13 bouts), she is averaging 65.4 fantasy points per contest. Typically a fighter who likes to control the pace, she may have a very hard time doing that against the very aggressive Andrade.--Matt Bricker

3 years agoLauren Murphy handled business on Saturday as she welcomed former bantamweight champion Miesha Tate to the flyweight division by earning a unanimous-decision victory (30-27, 30-27, 29-28). In 15 minutes of action, Murphy tallied 102 significant strikes (128 total strikes) and stuffed all seven of Tate's takedown tries. With the win, Murphy rebounds from a loss and has now won six of her last seven contests in the Octagon. With her lone loss coming to the champion, it's likely we see Murphy back in the title picture if she can earn another victory or two.--Matt Bricker

3 years agoHoping their third scheduled meeting will actually happen, Lauren Murphy (15-5) will enter the Octagon for the first time in 2022 this Saturday. Typically a finisher in her career, nine of her 15 career wins have come by the finish, with eight of those via knockout/TKO. Since joining the UFC in 2018 after TUF 26, only two of her five victories have come by a finish. Murphy could hold an advantage over Miesha Tate, as Murphy will be the one welcoming Tate down a weight class from her norm in the flyweight ranks. DraftKings sees Murphy as the sizeable underdog with a salary of $7,400. Throughout her UFC career, Murphy averages 63.5 fantasy points per contest.--Matt Bricker
