Lauren Murphy Earns Fourth Win In A Row
4 years agoLauren Murphy did everything needed to put her at the top of the flyweight title picture. With Cynthia Calvillo withdrawing from the contest, the UFC was able to find a late replacement and keep Murphy on the pay-per-view portion of the card. Murphy showcased her abilities in earning her first professional submission by submitting Lilya Shakirov in the second round via a rear-naked choke. Murphy only landed 22 significant strikes (33 total strikes) through 8:31 of action, but she landed her only takedown and secured a submission for the finish. She is now on the hottest streak of her career, winning her fourth fight in a row inside the Octagon.
