Late Inning Home Run Dampens Marco Gonzales' Strong Start
6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter Marco Gonzales cruised through his first seven innings of work Friday night before Mike Trout greeted him with a game-tying two-run shot in the eighth. This mistake put a sour note on an otherwise terrific start in which he struck out six and walked two in his seven frames of work. Gonzales holds a stellar 2.84 ERA on the year and kept his perfect 4-0 record intact in the no-decision. The southpaw will take the hill next week at home versus the Rangers and is a sure-fire start in that matchup.
