Lars Nootbaar 2025 Fantasy Baseball Outlook: Sleeper Appeal, Especially In OBP Leagues
Lars Nootbaar put up a .244/.342/.417 slash line with 12 home runs, 45 RBI, 39 runs, and seven stolen bases in 109 games in 2024. While that looks like a pretty average stat line, his underlying metrics paint him as a much better player. His plate discipline has always been elite, and that remained true with a 100th-percentile 16.9% chase rate and 98th-percentile 12.8% walk rate. However, his quality of contact also took a significant step forward in 2024. The outfielder's hard-hit rate jumped from 37.8% in 2023 to 49.5% last season, which ranked in the 91st percentile. He dealt with an oblique injury that knocked him out for a big chunk of the season, but he finally put it together in September, slashing .290/.420/.565. He has all the tools to be a great bat at the major league level. He needs to stay healthy and put it all together. ATC is projecting him to slash .247/.344/.427 with 17 home runs, 55 RBI, 61 runs, and nine stolen bases in 494 plate appearances. He is an appealing sleeper pick with an ADP of 264, especially in points leagues or leagues that reward OBP.
