Lars Eller Dominating In Elevated Role
7 years agoWashington Capitals forward Lars Eller potted his fifth goal and 11th point of the postseason in last night's 6-2 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning to give Washington a 2-0 series lead going home for Game 3. The Great Dane has thrived in an elevated role while filling in for injured center Nicklas Backstrom, taking his place on the second line and top powerplay unit. Eller already set new career highs in the regular season with 18 goals and 38 points and now looks to push his playoff numbers to new heights as well; he's two points shy of the 13 he set with Montreal in 2014.
