3 years agoWashington Nationals outfielder Lane Thomas will hit leadoff for the first time this year in Saturday's game against left-hander Alex Wood and the San Francisco Giants. Cesar Hernandez led off each of the team's first 16 games this year, but he is slotting in as the team's No. 6 hitter on Saturday. Thomas hasn't gotten things going at the plate yet this year. Over 14 games, he's slashing just .190/.255/.262 with three extra-base hits (all doubles).
