Lane Thomas Absent After Getting Injured On Tuesday
1 week agoCleveland Guardians outfielder Lane Thomas (wrist) is out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the division-rival Chicago White Sox at Progressive Field after suffering a bruised right wrist when he was hit by a pitch in the team's home opener on Tuesday. X-rays came back negative on Thomas' wrist, so fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day for now. Check back to see if he's able to return to the lineup for the series finale against Chicago on Thursday. Nolan Jones will move to center field and bat sixth, while Jhonkensy Noel is starting in right field and hitting fifth on Wednesday against White Sox right-hander Sean Burke. Thomas has gone just 5-for-30 (.167) in the early going with two RBI and a steal, so perhaps the day off will do him well. Noel has similarly struggled with only one hit and an RBI in his first 17 at-bats of 2025. He's hitless in just one career at-bat against Burke.
