Landen Roupp To Start Cactus League Opener On Saturday
17 seconds agoSan Francisco Giants right-hander Landen Roupp will start the team's Cactus League opener on Saturday against the Texas Rangers and will likely throw two innings. Roupp will kick things off for the Giants this weekend after making his major-league debut in 2024 and going 1-2 with a 3.58 ERA (3.42 FIP), a 1.37 WHIP and 47:26 K:BB in 50 1/3 innings over his first 23 appearances (four starts). The former 12th-rounder in 2021 out of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington struggled in relief early on last year after surprisingly making the Opening Day roster, but he looked much better later in the year in a closing role, albeit in a small sample size. The 26-year-old relies on a sinker-curveball mix to generate ground balls. It's unlikely that he'll make the club's Opening Day starting rotation, but Roupp could be an interesting and cheap deep-league DFS streamer if he gets starts again at some point.
