Lance McCullers Jr. Ramps Up His Pitching On Tuesday
2 years agoHouston Astros right-hander Lance McCullers Jr. (forearm) tossed 32 pitches during a session on Tuesday. According to Astros beat reporter Brian McTaggart, McCullers threw six sliders and six curveballs. His velocity was sitting between 90 and 93 mph during the session and the plan is for him to continue throwing at that speed until he begins a rehab assignment. The 28-year-old has yet to make his 2022 debut as he's been recovering from a right flexor tendon strain. If he can avoid any major setbacks, he should begin a rehab assignment relatively soon and be on track to join the Astros at some point in August.
