Lance Lynn Struggles With Control, Offense Bails Him Out In Win
6 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher Lance Lynn delivered five shaky innings against the Boston Red Sox on Wednesday, but he managed to secure a win with the help of his offense. The outing marked the end of Lynn’s streak of five consecutive quality starts. Lynn walked five Red Sox hitters, one shy of his career high. Even with the control issues, though, the veteran right-hander pitched well enough to get himself out of a few jams and limit the Red Sox offense — slumping as of late — to just one run. The Twins offense, on the other hand, connected with Red Sox pitching for eight hits and four runs, enough to lift Lynn to his fifth win of the season. It might be time for fantasy players to look at Lynn as a consistent option worth picking up sooner rather than later. If he keeps going like this, he won’t be overlooked much longer. The veteran will get the dreadful Chicago White Sox next.
