Lamar Jackson Trending Towards Returning On Sunday
3 years agoBaltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said that he is "hopeful" quarterback Lamar Jackson (ankle) will return on Sunday. Jackson is expected to return to practice on Wednesday, which is a great first step; however, if Jackson does miss the game, backup Tyler Huntley figures to be activated from the COVID-19 list on Thursday, so he would be able to start. Jackson has had a poor year by his standards and may have his rushing ability hampered by the ankle injury if he returns, which makes him a low-end QB1 in a tough matchup against the Rams. However, given his dynamic playmaking ability, it would be hard to bench him if he's active unless you somehow have two elite QBs. If Huntley starts, he would be more of a QB2 in a tough matchup against Aaron Donald and company behind an offensive line that gives up the most sacks in the NFL.
