Kyrie Irving Won't Play Or Practice Without Full Clearance
3 years agoBrooklyn Nets point guard Kyrie Irving was cleared to practice with the team at their home facility last week. However, the Nets have decided to keep Irving out of all team games and practices until he is eligible to be a full participant. Nets general manager Sean Marks issued a full statement on the team's decision on Tuesday, saying that the organization respected Irving's individual rights, but that they would "not permit any member of our team to participate with part-time availability." Irving is unvaccinated and he is not able to play in home games as a result of New York City's COVID-19 policies. Before Tuesday's decision, Irving was going to be utilized only in road games, but now he essentially won't be a part of the team at all unless something gives.
