Kyle Trask Tosses First Career Touchdown
Kyle Trask finished Saturday's win against Houston by going 12-for-14 for 146 yards and one touchdown. The touchdown was the rookie's first in the NFL. In three preseason games played, this was the QB's best in terms of passing yards and completion percentage. It's worth noting Trask did have two fumbles so there are still going to be growing pains. Nevertheless, he has made a compelling case for being the backup QB this preseason but it remains to be seen whether he has made enough of an impression to do so. Trask remains well off the fantasy radar heading into the season.

Kyle Trask Improves In Second Preseason Game
Kyle Trask was given the start under center once again for the second preseason contest on Saturday. The former second-round pick looked better on the field during this outing. He completed 12-of-19 passing attempts for 108 yards with one touchdown and zero interceptions in the loss. This performance should give Trask the edge in his competition with John Wolford for the backup job behind Baker Mayfield. During the second half, Wolford completed 7-of-14 passing attempts for 52 yards in the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. There is still one preseason game left on the schedule. Possibly, Mayfield gets into that contest, but it'll likely be Trask and Wolford for a majority of the snaps.

Kyle Trask Quiet In Preseason Opener
Kyle Trask was tasked with making the start under center for the preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Saturday. The former second-round pick has failed to make a name for himself since being drafted in 2021. Last season, Trask battled with Baker Mayfield for the starting gig. Now, Trask is competing with John Wolford for the backup spot in Tampa Bay. On Saturday, Trask went 12-for-20 with an interception and a fumble in the victory. He threw for 144 yards without a touchdown during the first half of this game. The expectation is these two will continue to compete for the No. 2 job in Tampa Bay throughout the preseason.

Kyle Trask To Start In Preseason Opener
Kyle Trask has been named the starter for Saturday's preseason opener against the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Todd Bowles mentioned that a majority of the starters including Baker Mayfield will be resting in the opener. That being said, Trask will start the game and is expected to be followed by third-string quarterback John Wolford. Last season, Trask and Mayfield were having a competition for the starting gig in Tampa Bay. That won't be the case this time around as Trask will compete with Wolford for the backup spot on the roster.

Kyle Trask Continues His Strong Play
Kyle Trask continued to step up and deliver despite being named the backup to open the season. The 25-year-old spent a majority of the preseason competing with Baker Mayfield for the starting gig in Tampa Bay. The Bucs ultimately decided to go with Mayfield as their starter. Despite that, Trask continued his strong preseason versus the Baltimore Ravens on Saturday. Trask completed 19-of-31 passing attempts for 192 yards and a touchdown in the win. He has been able to limit the turnovers and make some big plays on offense. The former second-round pick is set to backup Mayfield, but will be the next man up off the bench.
