Kyle Teel On The Cusp Of The Big Leagues
13 hours agoThe Chicago White Sox acquired catcher Kyle Teel in the December trade that sent left-hander Garrett Crochet to the Boston Red Sox, and MLB.com's Michael Avallone writes that Teel is on the Cusp of making his major-league debut after a strong full season in the minors in 2024. His numbers dipped a bit late in the year, but the 23-year-old backstop finished with a .288/.386/.433 slash line, .819 OPS, 13 home runs, 78 RBI, 12 stolen bases and 88 runs scored in 112 games with Double-A Portland and Triple-A Worcester. Jim Callis gives Teel a 50 percent shot at making Chicago's Opening Day roster out of spring training. He currently ranks as MLB Pipeline's No. 32 overall prospect. Teel has the potential to provide fantasy managers with 15-20 home runs eventually at the weakest position while also providing above-average marks in average and on-base percentage.
