Kyle Schwarber Expected To Return From Injured List On Tuesday
5 months agoPhiladelphia Phillies outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (groin) will run the bases on Saturday. It's the last step toward rejoining the team. Barring a setback on Saturday, Schwarber is expected to be activated from the injured list on Tuesday. First baseman Bryce Harper (hamstring) isn't far behind. It was reported on Thursday that Schwarber was doing drills at 90 percent intensity as he rehabs a mild groin strain that landed him on the IL last week. It's great news for the Phils and fantasy managers that the 31-year-old left-handed slugger will be back before the All-Star break, although he'll likely be eased back in at DH. When active, Schwarber is a must-start in all fantasy leagues for his elite power from the leadoff spot. He's currently hitting .250 (75-for-300) with 17 long balls, 49 RBI, four stolen bases and 60 runs scored in 79 games played in 2024.
