Kyle Muller May Get Start Monday For Braves
Kyle Muller is likely to get the call for Monday's game against the San Diego Padres and Yu Darvish, according to The Athletic. The rookie left-hander has 15 strikeouts and two walks in 10 innings over two starts with a 1.80 ERA since his return to Triple-A. Touki Toussaint and Charlie Morton are expected to start the Tuesday and Wednesday games for Atlanta, with San Diego's pitchers to be announced. Muller is worth a flier in redraft leagues as he's flashed talent in the Majors, but the matchup isn't easy, so he may be a shaky weekly play even with the potential for two starts.

Kyle Muller To Make Another Rehab Appearance On Tuesday
Kyle Muller (shoulder) made his second minor-league rehab appearance with Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, going 1 1/3 innings. Manager Mark Kotsay was pleased with Muller's outing and said the lefty will go again for the Aviators on Tuesday, July 2, and stretch out to two-plus innings. Muller gave up an earned run on two hits while walking two and striking out one on Friday as he works his way back from left-shoulder tendonitis. If the 26-year-old southpaw comes out of his next rehab outing OK on Tuesday, he could be reinstated from the injured list and rejoin Oakland's bullpen. Muller came up as a starter in the Atlanta Braves organization and started 13 of his 21 appearances for the A's in 2023, but all 13 of his outings in the big leagues for Oakland in 2024 before his shoulder injury came in relief.

Kyle Muller To Throw Bullpen On Sunday
Kyle Muller (shoulder) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Sunday, June 23. If all goes well during that 30-pitch session, Muller is expected to join Triple-A Las Vegas for the start of a minor-league rehab assignment the week of June 24. The 26-year-old southpaw began his throwing program all the way back on June 6 and is nearing game action as he attempts to return from the injured list and rejoin Oakland's bullpen around the end of this month. Thirteen of his 21 appearances last year came in a starting role, but all 13 of his outings this year before his injury came in relief. In his 33 2/3 innings, Muller allowed 16 runs (13 earned) and 33 hits (five homers) while walking seven and striking out 24. His well below-average career 17.8% strikeout rate makes him pretty useless in fantasy as a reliever.

Kyle Muller Looking To Throw Off A Mound Next
Kyle Muller (shoulder) started a throwing program last Thursday, and the next step in his rehab process from left-shoulder tendonitis is to throw off a mound, although there is no timetable for when that will happen at this time. Muller was solid for the A's in a relief role this year before his injury, as he has allowed 16 runs (13 earned) on 33 hits (five home runs) while walking only seven and striking out 24 in 33 2/3 innings in his 13 appearances out of the A's bullpen. If the 26-year-old southpaw avoids a setback with his shoulder, he should be able to return to the big-league bullpen before the end of June. Before the 2024 campaign, 24 of Muller's 33 MLB appearances with the Atlanta Braves and A's came in a starting role.

Kyle Muller Roughed Up Again On Monday
Kyle Muller was rocked for a second straight start on Monday versus the Chicago Cubs. While Muller lasted just four innings, he surrendered a whopping 13 hits including a home run while allowing seven earned runs to cross the plate. Forced into an Opening Day start due to some injuries to the A's rotation, Muller hurled 10 2/3 innings of three-run ball to begin his season but has struggled since. The big left-hander has been rocked for 12 earned runs across just eight innings over his last two starts. The 25-year-old will carry a 7.23 ERA into his next scheduled start on April 24 when he will take on the Los Angeles Angels on the road.
