Kyle Lowry, Hornets Agree To Buyout, Heading To Philly
10 months agoAccording to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, guard Kyle Lowry and the Hornets have agreed to a contract buyout. Additionally, the veteran will sign a $2.8 million deal with Philadelphia, his hometown team. Lowry was traded to Charlotte on Thursday after spending the last few seasons in Miami. However, his production has declined since joining the team, and he averaged just 8.2 points this season. The 37-year-old has also battled various ailments over the years, appearing in 58 games or less since the 2019-2020 campaign while still with the Toronto Raptors. Nonetheless, it's doubtful Lowry will do anything meaningful for fantasy managers, even with a change of scenery. But his presence could have a positive impact on the surging Tyrese Maxey, who is anticipated to remain Philly's top offensive contributor while Joel Embiid (knee) recovers from meniscus surgery.
