Kyle Larson Scores The Best Drafting-Track Finish Of His Career At Atlanta
4 mins agoKyle Larson ended up earning the best result of his Cup career at a drafting track during Sunday's Ambetter Health 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Beginning the race from the 17th position, Larson did not do much during the first stage as he ended it in 17th. The race's second stage is where Larson would make moves to the front. The No. 5 Chevrolet driver eventually made his way into the top five toward the end of the stage behind his teammate Alex Bowman. Larson would pass Bowman and win the second stage, which was the first time he won a stage on a drafting track in his Cup career. In the final stage, Larson lost the lead through pit stops but came back to the front and traded the lead with several drivers until he would duel with Austin Cindric in the closing laps. Larson ran Cindric up the track, causing him to crash and send the race into overtime with Larson in the lead position. In the race's final restart, Larson gained the lead until he lost it to Christopher Bell while the race ended under caution for a crash. This would award Larson a finish of third behind Bell and Carson Hocevar, which is now the best finish of his Cup career at a drafting track.
