Kyle Larson Has A Day To Forget At COTA On Sunday
28 seconds agoKyle Larson had a day to forget at Circuit of the Americas on Sunday as he finished in the 32nd position by the end of the race. Larson began the race in seventh position, and by the end of the first stage, Larson maintained his position and scored stage points. On lap 33, in the middle of the second stage while running eighth, Larson was penalized for shortcutting the course, beginning his downfall for the rest of the race. Before the end of the second stage, after pitting, Larson lost his right front tire completely. Although the No. 5 Chevrolet driver brought his car to pit road, he would fall two laps down and miss out on stage points in the second stage. Eventually, in the final stage, Larson recovered to the lead lap after a caution and began to race with the pack again, but late in the race, Larson spun with just a few laps to go and had to settle for a finish of 32nd. This was easily Larson's worst result in his Cup career at COTA to date.
