Kyle Garlick Makes Opening Day Roster
4 years agoMinnesota Twins outfielder Kyle Garlick has made the team's Opening Day roster. Considered a longshot when the Twins opened camp, Garlick proceeded to swing a hot bat in Grapefruit League action, with 11 hits, five home runs, and 13 RBI in 16 games. The 29-year-old has played just 42 games at the big-league level with the Dodgers and Phillies- though he showcased some serious pop in the minors- with 40 home runs in 178 career games at the Triple-A level. Garlick will form the right-handed side of a platoon with Jake Cave in left field, though it's a role that would give him fantasy value in only the deepest of leagues.
