Kyle Freeland Takes Tough Loss Monday
2 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland pitched well but took the loss in Monday's 2-0 game against the Pirates. Freeland pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on seven hits (including a two-run home run) and three walks with four strikeouts. The 29-year-old has gotten off to a good start overall this season, going 3-4 with a 3.57 ERA. However, the strikeouts have not been there with a 5.96 K/9 rate and he does have the severe disadvantage of pitching his home games at Coors Field. Freeland is slated to make his next start at home against the Phillies. The Phillies have been scuffling lately offensively, so Freeland could be a decent start despite pitching at home.
