Kyle Freeland Progressing Well In Shoulder Rehab
4 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher Kyle Freeland (shoulder) still has no official return date, but is progressing well in his rehab, according to Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post. Manager Bud Black said that Freeland is doing strengthening exercises in Arizona, and he is improving each day and increasing the intensity of his rehab. Freeland suffered a shoulder strain during a Spring Training start on March 23, where he exited the game after spiking a pitch into the ground. He is two years removed from his fourth-place finish in the NL Cy Young race, and while he had a down year in 2019, he showed some improvement last year as he lowered his ERA to 4.33 and his WHIP to 1.415. When he returns he could be a potentially decent streaming option, after allowing two runs in nine innings while striking out nine during Spring Training.
