Kyle Finnegan Earns Fifth Save Of Season Monday
2 years agoWashington Nationals relief pitcher Kyle Finnegan picked up his fifth save of the season in Monday's 5-4 win over the Cubs. Finnegan was called upon to close things out with a one-run lead and delivered a 1-2-3 inning with a strikeout. It initially appeared that Finnegan would be the go-to bullpen arm for save situations when Tanner Rainey (elbow) went on the injured list with a UCL injury to his right elbow, but it now appears that he is in a timeshare with Carl Edwards Jr. Finnegan has converted five of nine save opportunities this season with a 3.47 ERA. The fact that the Nationals may not see a ton of save opportunities plus the uncertain job security limits Finnegan's fantasy value at this time.
